Ten Election Day after Observations

Although on the surface these can be characterized as generalizations, I do believe these are more truth than not. Whether you agree or not with what you will be reading, in the end it is my intention for all of us to simply think and reconsider our present positions and points of view and move forward.
1.       President Obama inherited a mess. A huge mess. So huge it has been proven four years has not been long enough to correct or even make a drastic change in tide. Although there have been many improvements, many more are needed. Hence another four years is warranted and deserved.
2.       President Obama has made mistakes certainly. However tough decisions had to be made, often without the luxury of much time. Some decisions were not popular, but had to be made. The sign of a great leader is being able to make tough decisions in tough times and not be concerned about popularity.
3.       Overall President Obama is viewed as honest and genuine. Now he must re-establish open, honest, transparent communication as he vowed upon his first term.
4.       The Democratic Party, again not perfect, is far more in touch with the real, true, genuine America of the 21st century, recognizing America is a different America, changing and evolving at a breakneck pace relying on technology, also recognizing and accepting the World is different, changing, evolving at this same pace.
5.       The Republican Party is sorely out of touch with the real, true, genuine, different, changing and evolving America and World.
6.       Overall Mitt Romney is viewed as dishonest and disingenuous. As is true with many Republicans in high stakes, high powered positions whether actual or perceived, Mitt Romney is viewed as being sorely out of touch with the real, genuine, different, changing and evolving America and World.
7.       The Republican Party needs a cleansing with new and contemporary figures taking a stand whom are willing to break from the old mold, stand strong, and demand a Republican Party which is willing to not only get in touch with this new America and World, but is equally willing to work side by side with the greater diversity that makes up the richness of America and the World.
8.       As an election analyst suggested, and I agree, this election proved billionaires, mostly middle aged or older white males having little understanding and regard for women, minorities, gays, and any and all other diverse peoples could not buy their way to a Presidential win with a man of their ilk.
9.       The Democrats overall accept America and the World is moving forward, never to go back. The Republicans overall do not get this and are not willing to accept this never turning back progress.
10.   America, it is time to unite seeking common ground and the common good for all. It is time to stop requesting “God Bless America” and start demanding “God Bless the World”!
