Finally tomorrow is Election Day. After way too many months of
TV commercial ads, most focusing on negativity toward the other candidate
rather than using this time to inform us of what actual steps and plans will be
followed if elected, and after countless fliers stuffed in mailboxes to the max
having cost millions of dollars to print, we will either re-elect President Obama
or Mitt Romney to serve as President of the United States for the next four years. Of course there are many others offices to be voted on and many
issues tomorrow, but the BIG one is the BIG OFFICE, the President.
There is much that can be said when analyzing this campaign-
the reality being much of it negative. But after all the analysis, discussion,
and debate, one thing is extremely obvious; this country is tremendously and
sadly divided. Set aside all the politics and party platforms, in the end
whether Obama or Romney is elected, a primary emphasis must be on bridging the
gaps, healing, and seeking some common ground.
As is the case in most situations in which there are differing
opinions, opposing sides know very well what the right thing is to be done to
resolve an issue or conflict. As an
elected official, set aside ego and self-imposed power and start serving.
Tomorrow we vote, and the biggest victory for America would
be for every eligible voter to exercise their Constitutional right and cast
their ballot. There will be a winner and loser. Once the results are known, it
is then time to work together supporting the Office of the President. If you
are not happy with the results, don’t worry too much. It won’t be too long
until we start seeing those ads occupying so much time on TV.
