Link missing link where have you gone

You where right here in this very place for awhile

Doing your job as all links are supposed to do

Along the entire length of a chain

Joining and coupling and spanning the space

You reaching and holding both sides

Each link along a winding chain

Agrees to be there for the other  

Equal in importance and equal in responsibility

Each link adds strength to the chain

This strength bonding and forging

A forever unbreakable seal

When the winds of life pull from both sides  

A chain is strong by nature

Always looked as a whole

Rarely is the focus on any link

Until a link fails and the chain is broken

A wise sage once said with a keen observing eye

‘The strength of any chain is only found in the weakest link along the line’

Just take a look and notice

The weakest and strongest links are never far apart

But you missing link have left a hole

Now weakening the two links on either side

The chain once strong and reliable

Now a pile of rusted dreams

Missing link like a cancer

You have gnawed away the life

Leaving the separate pieces to fend all alone

Ego and selfishness of one simple link

The demise of many a fine chain

Swallowing the two pieces

An unbreakable chain no more

Link missing link you are no longer missing

False impressions have fooled even you

Long before the chain was ever broken

You were not missing but rather lost

The weakened pieces of the chain

So broken and so fragile

Will be picked up and joined

True links of love have a way of healing

Moving forward a new strength forever forged

The weakened links left in your wake

Now the strength for a real chain
