A Response From God

This is God and three things I gotta say

  about your actions and how you pray.

Your long prayers are old and all for show

you ramble and ramble nothing but blow.

You pray out loud for another’s sin

when really your spreading gossip within.

So to my point there are just three things you should pray

it does not matter what the phony preachers say. 

Not playing the ego card but I thought I’d made it clear

the way you treat others I do not endear.

First pray for forgiveness right away

start anywhere else and you will further stray.

Second “Your will be done” is the only thing to ask

if you really understand my teaching you know the task.

Third it’s good to give thanks for all life’s joys

and stop asking for prosperity, fame and toys.

I am so much more than you have made me out to be

your church’s teaching blinds you of all there is to see.

You judge rumors, adultery, sexual orientation and your neighbors’ flaws

with the plank in your eye you focus on only parts of laws?

Read carefully your prayer should be silent and hidden

what you do, a mockery of prayer is forbidden.

Instruction is clear what more do you need

this simple prayer is all you should plead.

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, 

But deliver us from the evil one.
