Events of the past shape the present. What do we do with the "Now"? PEACE!

Where do we live

Do we really live in The United States of Lies and Deceptions
Where truths and facts are covered up and buried
Where rights once so precious have eroded to nothing but words
Where such ideals as life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are a myth
Where money, power and greed are the ruling parties
Where voting rights and elections mimic a round of shadow boxing
Where the news media has a collective mantra to manipulate and influence
Where truth and justice is washed down the sewer drain
Where freedoms are taken for granted and erased
Where such things as privacy are exposed by surveillance
Where land of the free has become a bait and switch
Where a pledge of allegiance should be a two-way street
Where politicians have no idea who they represent
Where discrimination is the norm for far too many
Where the “American Dream” is really "get in line and surrender who you are”
Where valuing the life of another is lost in debate over gun rights
Where a word such as terrorist is painted like graffiti on one’s psyche
Where leaders only lead to line their own pockets
Where success is measured in things rather than in building relationships with others
Where saying and believing “one nation under God” insults the very Creator of the world
Where freedom of expression is dictated by political correctness
Where respect will only be regained by first extending and practicing respect
Do we really live in the United States of Lies and Deceptions
The truth is, only if we allow ourselves to be

Pay up

You better look out there will be hell to pay in heaven
A biblical verse of epic proportion
Who cares what they say or how they say it
After all it is their “fucking city” (thank you Big Papi)
There always has been the heart
Regardless of what the critics think and say
And for that matter there too has been the matter
Don Henley didn’t just sing it
I believe he meant it…
Forgiveness! Forgiveness! Forgiveness!
Lives so many lives passing on by
The view from the bar brings a natural truth
He told me such is as he pulled up on a stool next to mine
A sage he was from a world long past
Full of wisdom to transcend time
How right it seemed the jukebox song
The heart of the matter is what life seemed to be
Getting down to the heart of the matter
In sudden silence we just sat
The music blended into a different sphere
The voices of other wanderers winning out
In the end which seemed so right to me
The prophet left blending into the walls

Will you

Time after time
The pendulum swings
Back and forth
Back and forth

Eyes follow the pattern
Hypnotic pace and trance
Time after time
Time after time

Follow the signs
Visions light the way
Seek your path
Seek your path

Will you listen
Will you follow
Will you sing
Will you play
Will you laugh
Will you deny
Will you walk away

Sun rises
Sun sets
Day by day
Day by day

Rivers flow
Down mountain sides
To a basin
To a basin

Open the cover
Read the book
Page after page
Page after page

Will you listen
Will you follow
Will you sing
Will you play
Will you laugh
Will you deny
Will you walk away
